When we centre ourselves through meditation, we calm our emotions and release tension from the body. By drawing our focus inward, we free ourselves from any outside disturbances. The base form of Meditation we use at Back to Touch is Yoga Nidra. In addition to being a fascinating form or meditation to learn, Yoga Nidra is also an easy practice to follow as it takes the framework of a guided meditation / visualisation. For this reason, newcomers to the practice seldom feel lost or perturbed by the restlessness of their own minds (as is often the case in other forms of sitting mediation, where the meditator is left unguided). In fact, newcomers to this practice frequently ‘lose themselves’ in their connection to, and journey through, their inner exploration.
